Artist Residency in Lima

The residency allows twelve early career artists to undertake a ten week-long intensive program at the Cotto Ceramic Studio in Lima, Perú.

About the Residency

Cotto’s Studio Residency Program provides a unique opportunity for these artists to research and produce new ceramic projects under the guidance of the Cotto Studio advisors/directors, expand their practice by exploring local materials, and develop new professional networks. The paid program covers a fully-equipped shared pottery studio, production materials including clays, glazes and oxides, kiln firings, feedback and assistance from our team of specialized ceramicists (complete equipment and resource list here).

About Cotto Ceramic Studio

Cotto was founded in 2006, focusing on the production of designed homeware pieces, working with many of Lima’s leading restaurants. By 2013 the studio had begun to introduce aspects of training, advice and research around ceramic techniques and materials. Since then, Cotto has collaborated in the production, research and realization of art works for local and international exhibitions.

Located in the Barranco district, artists are given the opportunity to experience one of Lima’s most vibrant neighborhoods with easy access to accommodation, art galleries, theaters, transportation, supermarkets and inexpensive restaurants.
